Mysterie kopers Amstel en The Grand
De kaarten in het Amsterdamse hotellandschap worden opnieuw geschud. The Grand en het College Hotel zijn verkocht, het Amstel Hotel staat nog altijd in de etalage, en Hotel de l’Europe gaat flink uitbreiden. We maken een rondje door de hoofdstad.
Accor schoof deze week vijfsterrenhotel The Grand, inclusief managementcontract van 25 jaar, voor €60 miljoen door naar een onbekende koper. Volgens de Franse hotelgroep trekt deze koper ook nog eens €32 miljoen uit om de tent helemaal top te maken. Een belrondje levert niets op: niemand heeft een idee wie de koper is.
Het is ook onbekend of het Amstel Hotel verkocht is. Kopers konden zich tot 28 maart melden bij makelaar Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), maar niemand in het wereldje weet of er überhaupt geboden is - laat staan of de toko verkocht is. Ook hier zit een addertje onder het gras, in de vorm van een langlopend managementcontract, en daar zit de gemiddelde stenenschuiver natuurlijk niet op te wachten. De verwachte opbrengst van JLL (€80 miljoen) wordt door sceptici bijgesteld naar €65 miljoen.
Het College Hotel verwisselde begin dit jaar al van eigenaar. De 39-jarige Michael van de Kuit mag zich via zijn beleggingsvehikel Nedstede eigenaar van het prestigieuze hotel noemen. Houd Van de Kuit in de gaten: de jonge vastgoedbelegger, groot in de PC Hooftstraat, klopt met een vermogen van €60 miljoen op de deur van de Quote 500.
Hotel de l’Europe klopte aan bij de buren en kocht drie naastgelegen panden. De uitbreiding herbergt 24 kamers en suites, een welness centre en zes zalen. Nu ze toch bezig zijn: restaurant Excelsior, Brasserie le Relais en Freddy’s Bar worden compleet gerenoveerd. Eind juni 2009 moet de uitbreiding klaar zijn.
